She overcame her shyness and started sharing her fave songs online, and people loved it! Her first covers, like “Lac Troi,” “Song,” and “Em Nho Anh,” got a lot of support from friends, but it was her September 2018 cover of “Hay Xem Em La Giac Mo” that really blew up on social media.
Her covers are always trending on music pages like Pho, Yeah1 Music, Acoustic Music Corner, and Chi, gaining her over 83k followers. Besides her personal Facebook, she’s also rocking it on her fanpage and YouTube channel. With her soulful voice, she’s got over 107,000 YouTube subscribers and even scored a Silver Play Button in no time!
Influencer Marketing in Vietnam had a quick chat with Chu Duyen to learn about her journey and future plans:
Interviewer: Hey Chu Duyen! How does it feel to have so much support from your fans?
Chu Duyen: I’m super happy that people love my covers! Big thanks to the fan pages that share my videos – it’s helped so many people discover Dien Bun! (laughs)
Interviewer: We heard you’re a top 10 TikToker! Any tips for getting followers?
Chu Duyen: (Laughs) I was surprised too! I only started using TikTok a few months ago. I heard it’s where all the trends are, so I wanted to check it out. I posted some short covers and was shocked by how many likes I got and how quickly my fan base grew. I think whether it’s Facebook or TikTok, young people want authenticity and originality. I started my social media just to share my passion, but now that I have more attention, I’m putting more effort into my content, image, and how I interact with my followers.
Interviewer: Can you tell us more about that?
Chu Duyen: Besides covers, I’m also sharing more about my daily life. Usually, after two or three music clips, I’ll post a personal pic or something about my day so people can get to know me better, keep things interesting, and interact more. I also reply to comments and like posts on pages that share my stuff. I want to be friendly and close to my fans, like we’re all friends. Some fans who’ve been with me since the beginning still support me, like and comment on my posts, and even meet up with me in person! (laughs) I think that’s a big part of how I manage my social media.
Interviewer: What are your goals and plans for the future?
Chu Duyen: I want to focus on music and social media full-time, like livestreaming and making videos. I’ll be creating more content for Facebook and YouTube, and hopefully, I’ll get that YouTube Gold Play Button! Hope everyone will keep supporting me! (laughs)Interviewer: Thanks, Chu Duyen, and we wish you all the best in the future!
