Celebrity endorsement pricing reflects recognition, image fit, the talent’s time, the opportunity cost of refusing competitors, and defined likeness rights. Follower count is one reference point, not a price for the whole package.
A low quote for “one post” cannot predict a six-month ambassadorship. A large ambassador package may also contain rights the team does not need. Separate the scope before requesting names.
What a celebrity quote includes
The appearance or content fee is the first line of the quote. Other lines may cover shoot days, fitting, rehearsal, events, interviews, social posts, likeness rights, paid media, point-of-sale material, out-of-home, territory, exclusivity and the rights term.
In Vietnam, talent may work through a management company, agency, personal business or another representative structure. The brand should know who signs, who invoices, who approves content and who is responsible when timing or rights change.

First-pass planning bands
| Model | Planning band | Assumed scope |
|---|---|---|
| One social post/video with a recognized face | VND 100–400 million | Organic content and narrow usage |
| Mainstream celebrity for one hero asset | VND 300 million–1.5 billion | One shoot or post; rights quoted separately |
| Three-to-six-month ambassador | VND 1–5 billion+ | Several assets, appearances, limited likeness rights and exclusivity |
| Top-tier integrated campaign | VND 5–20 billion+ | TVC/digital/OOH/events, broad rights and high opportunity cost |
IMVN uses these first-pass planning bands to test feasibility before approaching management. Actual quotes can sit far below or above them based on recognition, timing, reputation risk, category, term, territory and rights.
Why celebrity quotes vary so widely
- Recognition among the intended buyers, not general fame alone.
- Role: cameo, social poster, event guest, shoot talent, spokesperson or brand ambassador.
- Workdays, fitting, rehearsal, travel and calendar hold.
- Asset count, posting channels, approval rounds and duties on personal channels.
- Likeness rights for organic, paid social, website, e-commerce, POSM, OOH and TVC.
- Territory and term: Vietnam versus Southeast Asia; three months versus two years.
- Category exclusivity and the named competitor list.
- Reputation risk, morality language, cancellation and replacement plan.
Define image rights as a matrix
| Right | What the scope must say | Cost effect |
|---|---|---|
| Organic repost | Channels and live term | Low to medium |
| Paid social | Buying account, media spend, term and territory | Medium to high |
| Website/e-commerce | Pages, hero image or product placement | Depends on prominence and term |
| POSM/OOH | Locations, size and cities | High because use extends off-platform |
| TVC/video master | Channels, cut-downs, adaptation, voice and stills | High; derivative assets need definition |
| Exclusivity | Category, competitors, term and territory | Can be one of the largest add-ons |
Tax, contracts and the management party
The contract should separate service fees from likeness rights and state gross or net value, VAT or withholding where applicable, payment milestones, recipient documents, approval, cancellation, force majeure, and response to a reputation issue.
A management quote may not include every right. An individual contract can also cost more once gross-up, documents and enforcement risk are included. Read cross-border creator tax, invoices and payment documents and direct creator contracts versus a local agency.
Measure the celebrity’s campaign value
- Brand fit: does the talent connect naturally with the product or only provide reach?
- Audience fit: do followers overlap with intended buyers in Vietnam?
- Asset value: how much content is delivered and where can it be used?
- Incremental reach: does the celebrity add a new audience or duplicate the current creator mix?
- Risk-adjusted cost: are schedule, reputation, exclusivity and approval rights priced?
- Alternative: what macro lead and micro-creator mix could the same budget purchase?
